Москва. 26 марта. — Четыре страны ЕС — Литва, Чехия, Латвия и Эстония — предлагают Брюсселю запретить ввоз из России отходов и лома черных металлов, меди и алюминия.
Такое предложение было представлено на заседании Совета по вопросам окружающей среды Европейского союза, состоявшегося 25 марта, сообщило министерство окружающей среды Литвы.
«Литва предлагает Европейской комиссии оценить все возможности на уровне ЕС и внести предложение о приостановке импорта отходов из России в ЕС или разрешить государствам-членам принимать односторонние ограничительные меры», — заявила на заседании совета заместитель постоянного представителя Литвы при ЕС, посол Юрга Каспутене. По ее словам, такой импорт способствует финансированию спецоперации РФ на Украине и должен быть прекращен.
По данным министерства окружающей среды, в 2022-2023 годах из России в ЕС было импортировано отходов и лома черных металлов, меди и алюминия на сумму более 118 млн евро. Большая часть этого импорта идет через Литву.
По данным министерства, трансграничная транспортировка отходов регулируется Базельской конвенцией и Положением о транспортировке отходов, поэтому отдельные государства-члены не могут в одностороннем порядке запрещать или ограничивать такой импорт.
